To address a recurrent energy crisis, Ukraine is planning, among other measures, to extend the operating life of its 15 nuclear power plants. The decision is supported financially by the EU with €600 million in loans from Euratom and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). But two NGOs, Nuclear Transparency Watch and Bankwatch, backed by the Greens, dispute the decision.
