The French national energy ombudsman has set the cat among the pigeons by stating that the liberalisation of energy services for household clients has failed to bring down prices, notably for electricity. Jean Gaubert said that, since 2007, regulated electricity tariffs have risen between 33% and 35% and gas tariffs by 36%.
