Switzerland wants to participate in European Railway Agency

The Swiss government approved, on 20 May, a mandate for negotiating with the EU the country's participation in the European Railway Agency (ERA). The agency, which provides technical support for interoperability and safety, is set to become the continental authority charged with authorising rail vehicles that circulate at international level and issuing safety certificates (a 'one stop shop').
