With MEPs clashing over 550 amendments, Julia Reda’s draft report analysing the 2001 copyright directive has sparked one of the fiercest debates in the European Parliament, and also among external experts.
Eventually, the non-legislative report was adopted by Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI). The vote was 23 in favour, with no abstentions. Only two members of France’s Front National rejected it.
