Hours before the expiry of Greece’s bailout programme, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has requested a new aid scheme from the eurozone´s member states. In a letter sent to the President of the Eurogroup, Jeroen Dijssebloem, who also chairs the Board of Governors of the European Stability Mechanism, Tsipras said that this new two-year loan must include debt restructuring “in the spirit of the proposals to be made by the European Commission”.
