Taiwan wants closer ties

Building on its recent diplomatic rapprochement with Beijing, Taipei is pushing for a trade agreement with the EU. The Commission is currently looking for the best way to respond to this within the framework of its 'one China' policy. The European Service Forum (ESF) will conduct a study about the potentials for the EU’s services exports to this island of 23 million people, which has unique business access to mainland China.
