Following the political agreement on organic reform struck at the last Agriculture Council chaired by the Latvian EU Presidency, on 16 June, Luxembourg will try to reach a first-reading deal with the European Parliament and Commission by the end of its mandate.
The three-way talks could start in late autumn after the EP’s Committee on Agriculture (AGRI) vote in mid-September and a plenary vote, which has been tentatively scheduled for early October (5-8 October plenary session in Strasbourg).
