Transparency International has scrutinised the 4,318 meetings with lobbyists reported on the European Commission's website between December 2014 and June 2015. The conclusions are hardly surprising. They show that 75% of these lobby meetings declared by commissioners and their top-level staff were with representatives of corporate interests, 18% with NGOs, 4% with think tanks and 2% with local authorities. Private sector lobbyists make up 63% of those listed in the EU Transparency Register.
