The only partner country (of the six in all) to break off association agreement negotiations, Yerevan announced its decision ahead of the Vilnius summit (November 2013), bringing rapprochement with the EU to a halt. Armenia then joined (in January 2015) Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus as a member of the Eurasian Economic Union.
