China officially submitted its intended nationally determined contribution (INDC) to the Secretariat of the United Nations Climate Change Convention (UNFCCC), on 30 June. This contribution strengthens the offer made in November 2014 at the China-US summit by adding to this emissions ceiling the target of a 60-65% reduction in its carbon intensity by 2030 (from the 2005 level) and a 20% increase by 2030 in the share of renewable sources in its energy mix.
