Brussels tackles electricity networks : the Commission’s draft action plan

Contexte has published a provisional version of the action plan that the European executive is due to present on 29 November. The Commission is referring to the forthcoming EU-27 budget negotiations before considering any new funds earmarked for the development of electricity networks. It is not planning a legislative proposal, but around fifteen actions (advice, coordination, etc.) spread out between 2024 and 2025. Between now and 1ᵉʳ half-year 2025, the Commission will detail, for example, the situations in which early investment in networks should be considered.
